Isaiah Baclaan

Vice Chair, Oʻahu County Democrats

My name is Isaiah C. Baclaan, or “Isa,” as my mother calls me. I’m a third-generation Filipino American, born and raised in Hawai‘i. I am a proud Democrat serving as Treasurer of the Young Democrats of Hawaii. I am passionate about public policy and have worked at the State Capitol as a Committee Clerk and Legislative Aide helping Democrats to pass impactful measures that support the most vulnerable in our communities.

I am a Captain in the Hawaiʻi Army National Guard and have been activated in support of State emergencies including during the COVID-19 pandemic and Lahaina wildfire crisis. It is with great pride that I call West Oahu my home.

My wife Teresa and I have a handsome baby boy, Samuel. He is a large part of why I am committed to giving our keiki a better Hawai‘i. If elected to be your Oahu County Vice Chair, my commitment lies in prioritizing our community’s interests over divisive identity politics, ensuring the voices of Democrats are prioritized when shaping public policy in Hawaiʻi. I pledge to lend a compassionate ear to all our members and unify our community toward a singular goal — improving the lives of my family and yours!
